Honouring Thy Collar
It has occurred to me as I have watched discussions on forums, in chat, and more importantly in life that sometimes people really do not realize what they do.
We are human, faulty, but always seeking perfection even though we know it is not a viable option as perfection is as illusive as catching smoke with ones hands.
When it comes to Free sometimes we truly pay no heed or thought of what it is we say, act upon, provoke, etc. The only person who we truly have to answer to is ourselves. That is one of the things about the freedom we so much enjoy.
For the kajira the process, the consequences, the whole dynamic of bringing honour to the collar that they wear is a whole different plateau of reasoning. They genuinely reflect back on the Master and his honour is at stake much more so than the slaves. It is not only honour at risk but it is also that man or womans’ respect, standing and integrity. If there is no correction it is passively saying “yes this is My property, she may say as she will unchecked and no man or woman may say otherwise.”
That is problematic because while a Free may do with their property as they see fit it doesn’t mean that they can let it run rampant and then not care how the Free will feel. That will only cause the owner to lose the respect of those they call brother and sister of the common Home Stone of Gor.
So, next you post, remember, do not do so in anger, do not do so in frustration, but do it with a thoughtful answer. Write it out, re-read it, re-write it if possible, but do not just blurt out the first thing unless you are ready and willing to deal with the consequences. Don’t make it a common habit of doing it and expecting to be unchecked. There are and will be people who will put you in check most firmly.
I wish you well,
Saffleur
